The 9th European Youth Parliament for Water has just finished.
A real success for this edition hosted in Russia, in the Nizhni Novogorod oblast, from the 2 to the 9th october and whose topic was the treasures of European rivers and the necessity to developp integrated river management.

Par Emilie - Results of the photo contest
On the 7 th of October, during the 9th European Youth Parliament for Water, around 100 photos coming from Russia, Moldova, Ukraine and Bulgaria were observed by the Jury. The legends of the pictures were made by the youth as a part of the competition.
The results of its selection are as follows :

The horse: "For many years the river Nîrnova had very clean water with living creatures in it ... Today, things have changed ... Water has become more and more polluted ... And this can be read even in the eyes of the animals who drink this water : “This may be the last drop I’m drinking ... if I don’t die after drinking this dirty water, I wonder if I will see this river clean and full of life again as in the times when my grandmother was my age ?" and two special prizes for Bulgaria (topic : artistical picture) and Ukraine (topic : natural event)

A book gathering most of the pictures sent for the competition will be realised in the months to come.
Par Emilie - Results of the video contest
Last May, we launched a photo competition on the European rivers' treasures and a video competition on Volga river. More than a hundred of youth from Russia, Moldova, Ukraine and Bulgaria have participated by sending beautiful "windows" of their rivers.
Up to now, we have received :
- 92 photos from Russia, Moldova, Ukraine and Bulgaria
- 20 videos (spots, cartoons and mini films) on Volga river, and around 47 scenarii.
Results will be given next week during the 9th European Youth Parliament for Water hosted by the regional and local autorithies, NGO and youth of Nizhni Novgorod oblast.
